Aum

Aum is an open source data-sharing platform that monitors, shares and connects people with the music preferences of geographic locations around the world. It aggregates music preferences according to play counts in different scales of geography, and makes that meta-data available to registered users through interactive playlists. The platform essentially allows people to "plug-in" to the music preferences of different geographic communities and contribute to their own local community playlist. Aum is meant to exist as the social music alternative to personalized music platforms. Apart from enabling direct connections between responsive environments, Aum also facilitates any participating user to strem music in real-time from their current location. Accordingly, it is similar to a radio station, except that rather than having a DJ determine the music being played, Aum is geographically specific and the people of the community determine the music choices.
