Feeling Purple

Feeling Purple is a platform that provides digital and physical points of entry into emotional composites of geographic locations. Using WiFi enabled devices (PDAs, laptops and mobile phones), one would have the ability to contribute and sense the emotions of those around you. Composite emotions inform us of the general mood of the participating populations, while geo-tagging such inputs allows for the creation of a real-time emotional map. A gradient of colors between red and blue (different shades of purple) is used to represent the range of emotions between extreme positive and negative emotional states. By re-appropriating the color of light in public spaces, Feeling Purple is able to physically manifest the intangible qualities of composite human emotions.
